It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Office of the President-Ministry of State for Provincial Administration and Internal Security’s website. As a Ministry that cascades from the Provincial level to the lowest administrative unit, i.e. sub location level, our services impact greatly on the mwananchi. It is therefore our endeavour to double our efforts towards improved service delivery in order to realize our vision, “To be a leading agency in the provision of excellent leadership and governance for Kenya’s prosperity“

My Ministry is conscious of the increasing demand by Kenyans for efficient, quality services and value for money. The Ministry is therefore re-orienting itself to focus on its core functions and improving the service delivery processes. To achieve these, we shall be guided by five main operation principles: dedication to public service, integrity in service delivery, customer satisfaction, respect for human rights and value for money. The Ministry has already put in place various committees to spearhead various reforms including policy reforms, integrity and attitude reforms among others. Further, new working principles (reforms) have been adopted and strategic issues and objectives identified for guiding the preparation of performance contracts and work plans, so as to ensure achievement of our targets.

The development of this website is part of the Information, Education and Communication (IEC) strategies adopted under the 100 days Rapid Results Initiatives (RRI). The Initiatives are being implemented to redeem the Ministry’s poor integrity perception in the eyes of the public. The main thrust of these initiatives is to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of public service through the streamlining of systems, processes and structures. This will be achieved through institutionalizing good customer care and reception services, development and implementation of service charters, putting in place measure to reduce crime and corruption and to ensure effective information flow within the Ministry, stakeholders and the public at large.

In the medium term the Ministry will strive to improve security and the image of Provincial Administration and the Police Force, promote good governance by intensifying capacity development; effectively and efficiently coordinate and harmonize Government policies and programs for community development; strengthen capacity through provision of necessary infrastructure, equipment and human resource; strengthen Government reception services and management of state functions; transform Government Press and National Agency for the Campaign Against Drug Abuse (NACADA) into SAGAs; promote research and development; and integrate ICT into the operations of all departments.

This Website has been developed as feedback mechanisms, whereby you may send your compliments, suggestions or complaints. Provincial profiles have also been included in this website to allow you know your administrators. You will find links to some of our main departments, i.e. the Kenya Police Force and the Administration Police, NACADA and Government Press. The reforms currently being undertaken by the Ministry have also been included. Further, the Website provides Chiefs’ Training Manual and most recent activities taking place in the Ministry.
